Richmond Hill United Way Campaign Kickoff
The Richmond Hill Staff United Way Committee and Members of Council, along with representatives from the United Way of York Region kicked off United Way Week in Richmond Hill with a flag raising ceremony at the Town’s main Municipal Offices. Council proclaimed the week of September 19 to 23 as United Way Week in and for the Town of Richmond Hill and invited all residents to support the United Way of York Region (UWYR). Town employees plan to support the United Way and the communities they serve by again hosting their own fundraising campaign during the week of September 19 (and throughout the month of October). Planned events include a payroll deduction program, a bake sale and a barbecue, to name just a few. Over the last nine years, with the support of community sponsors, staff have raised more than half a million dollars for those in need.
