Richmond Hill Budget Adds Services and Invests In Our Future
RICHMOND HILL – April 11, 2011, Richmond Hill Council approved the Town’s 2011 Budget and continued its commitment to a beautiful, safe, secure and well-financed Town. The Budget results in a tax rate increase of 2.95 per cent, which is entirely attributable to new service levels. All previously existing programs and services have been accommodated with no added tax rate increases.
“Our residents depend on the important services that we provide, and they depend on us to be careful with their tax dollars. This budget ensures that these services will continue, and with a minimal tax impact,” said Mayor Dave Barrow. “They also expect that we will look to future needs – to provide for infrastructure stability and to remain debt-free.”
The 2011 Budget includes an operating component of $127.9 million and capital expenditures of $38.5 million.
