Dunlap offer rejected

The fight to preserve the David Dunlap Observatory lands will be won or lost at the Ontario Municipal Board.

This decision was made by Richmond Hill council last night, after more than 30 people spoke on a development plan and a town staff report urging council to reject the application from landowner Corsica.

Council voted 8-1 in favour of taking the matter to the board. Only Ward 2 Councillor Carmine Perrelli voted against doing so.

The vote was applauded by many at the meeting, which was moved to a Sheraton Parkway North ballroom to accommodate the crowd.
